We still get many enquiries from people looking for Oppo players so the pressure has definitely been on to find something good! Our shortlist consisted of both the Panasonic DP-UB9000 which comes with smart features such as Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming capabilities and the Pioneer UDP LX500 which is not Smart capable but can stream from networked servers.
Overall, we preferred the Pioneer; providing a clearer sound and better picture quality, which also operated much faster than the Panasonic. We even had the opportunity to compare both to the Oppo BDP-203 and we found that the Pioneer LX-500 offers both picture and sound quality that is comparable and won’t leave you disappointed. We have the Pioneer available, so don’t hesitate to call for a demonstration if you are in the market for a Blu-ray player.
