With over 100,000 Linn Sondek LP12 turntables in the world and a steady stream of upgrades, each making vinyl sound better, this ground-breaking product is now in its 45th anniversary year. Linn have introduced two compelling and innovative new Sondek LP12 products that give you the perfect reason to transform your deck, whatever level you're at.

The Linn Lingo was the original power supply upgrade that Linn first made in 1990. The Lingo has always been the go-to upgrade for those who desire rhythm and energy from their Vinyl playback. Now in its fourth generation, the Lingo is a wildly different beast, yet it retains all of the attributes that one would expect and desire from a Lingo.

The latest generation is neater, more compact and cleverer than ever and the Linn Akurate LP12 includes a new Linn Lingo IV power supply as standard.

The Lingo drives the LP12’s platter consistently at the correct speed — 33.3 or 45 rpm. It does this with a motor speed management system that includes a tachometer feedback loop, as developed for the top spec Linn Radikal DC power supply. The new Linn Lingo uses DSP to produce noise free power regulated by the Tachometer for exact speed, and therefore accurate music pitch and timing.

The new Lingo MK IV is significantly smaller than previous models. The power supply sits alone in the off-board case with the motor control and speed regulation circuits mounted inside the turntable, close to the motor. The start-stop switch remains on the turntable in the usual place.  You can find more information about the new Lingo here.

The new Urika II is a radical, outside-the-box approach in phono stage design. After extracting all that wonderful analogue information with a first class turntable, arm and cartridge, someone at Linn thought "let's convert it to digital!" Now that isn't as absurd an idea as some might think. Since Linn introduced the Exakt technology nearly 5 years ago, this is exactly what happens when a turntable of any kind is connected. The features and benefits of Exakt have been obvious and fruitful from the start, and with a digital phono stage, Linn have extended the benefits of this technology all the way up inside the Sondek LP12.

With a Urika II inside, Linn have used their cutting-edge digital signal processing technology to implement the RIAA curve in the digital domain in a way that’s uniquely improved. It means lower distortion and reduced noise. And, most importantly, more music. Transported via Exakt Link, the musical information that Urika II delivers is perfectly preserved until the moment it reaches your Exakt digital speakers, ExaktBox digital crossover or Exakt DSM.

The Urika II can be optimised in the digital domain to work with your cartridge load values. Linn have a pre-loaded list of popular cartridges or you can enter your own. This can all be done from your armchair with a laptop to ensure it’s completely optimised for the listening position – in the same way as the speakers.

Quite simply, within the scope of a Linn Exakt music system, Urika II elevates the performance of Klimax LP12 to another level delivering a musical experience like never before.

The new Linn Lingo is £1,450 and the new Urika II is £2,750. Please contact us to arrange a demonstration.
